Grohe SmartControl Thermostatic Cartridge — 49028000
The Grohe 49028000 is an authentic, original-equipment thermostatic temperature regulating cartridge engineered specifically for Grohtherm SmartControl concealed shower and bath mixer valves installed with the Grohe Rapido SmartBox (35600000 / 35604000). Fitted with Grohe's advanced TurboStat compact thermo-element, this 3/4" cartridge continuously balances hot and cold water supplies to react in a fraction of a second to household pressure changes. If your SmartControl shower runs constantly lukewarm, fails to reach target heat, suffers from sudden temperature spikes, or becomes stiff to calibrate, this direct OEM replacement restores complete factory thermostatic control.
Identification Guide:
MPN: 49028000 (also referenced as 49 028 000) | EAN / Barcode: 4005176413728 | Connection Size: 3/4" (DN 20) | Technology: Grohe TurboStat Thermo-Element | Includes: Pre-fitted sealing O-rings and integrated stainless steel gauze filter screens
Key Features
- TurboStat Rapid Blending: Compensates for sudden pressure fluctuations in milliseconds to protect against scalding and cold shocks.
- Integrated Gauze Strainers: Fine stainless steel mesh filters catch pipe grit and limescale flakes before entering the sensitive thermo-element.
- Cures Temperature Inconsistencies: Solves classic mixing faults where the water refuses to get hot, fluctuates erratically, or the 38°C SafeStop will not set.
- Factory OEM Precision: Machined to exact Grohe internal tolerances to guarantee correct seating depth, effortless calibration, and a watertight seal.
Installation Note
Always isolate incoming hot and cold water supplies before removing the SmartControl front trim. Extract the central temperature knob, remove the retaining nut, and withdraw the old cartridge from the valve housing. Ensure the inner brass chamber is thoroughly inspected and cleared of any limescale or loose debris. Lightly lubricate the new rubber O-rings with WRAS-approved silicone grease prior to insertion. Once supplies are re-established, recalibrate the 38°C safety stop position using a digital thermometer before locking the faceplate in place.
