Aqualisa Mach 120 Twin Ended Regenerative Shower Pump 1.2 Bar — MC0120
The Aqualisa Mach 120 (MC0120) is an authentic 1.2 bar twin-ended regenerative shower pump engineered exclusively by Stuart Turner to provide a moderate pressure boost for gravity-fed plumbing systems. Regrettably, this complete 1.2 bar pump assembly has been **officially discontinued by Aqualisa**. While more powerful upgrade options such as the Mach 250 (2.5 bar) and Mach 340 (3.4 bar) are available, stepping up to these higher pressure models requires a careful review of your physical space and structural plumbing limitations.
Identification Guide:
MPN: MC0120 | SKU / FTB: FTB6497 | Alternative Models: MC0250 (2.5 Bar) / MC0340 (3.4 Bar) | System Type: Gravity-Fed Stored Water Only
Upgrade Compatibility FAQ
Do the electrics need altering? No structural electrical rewiring is necessary. All three Mach pumps operate on a standard 230V single-phase domestic power supply. While the power consumption increases marginally across models (Mach 120 = 430W / 1.9A vs. Mach 250 = 635W / 2.8A), both run safely off a standard 5-Amp fused spur circuit.
Do the plumbing dimensions change? Yes. While the length (306mm) and width (126mm) remain identical across the range, the physical motor height increases. The Mach 250 sits noticeably taller than the 223mm clearance profile of the original Mach 120, which may require minor adjustments to the structural pipework positions.
Important Technical Warning
Upgrading to a 2.5 bar (MC0250) or 3.4 bar (MC0340) pump significantly increases water velocity. You must verify that your hot water cylinder and cold water storage tank hold enough capacity to handle the increased draw rate, otherwise the system may quickly run dry or suffer severe air-lock failures.
