Why air operation?
The bellows compresses air through the tube to a remote air switch element, which operates the electrical contacts away from the hazardous/wet area — providing total electrical isolation at the point of use. Typical sites: battery charging rooms, labs, garages, wash-down areas, or anywhere explosive gases, vapours or powders may exist.
Tubing length guidance
The actuator + switch form a sealed air system. Air volume changes with temperature; excessive tubing length can affect switching performance. Keep total tube length as short as practical — consult the switch element’s data for maximum recommended lengths at moderate vs. extreme temperatures.
Check before you buy
- You’re pairing with a compatible air-operated switch element
- Install environment is within −10 °C to +40 °C
- Tubing run can be kept short for reliable operation
- You require free-standing use or can mount via bayonet plate
FAQs
Is the electrical switch inside the bellows?
No — the bellows only moves air. The switch element is remote, keeping electrics away from the wet/hazard area.
Can this be hand-operated as well?
Yes — it’s suitable for foot or hand operation.
How do I mount it?
Use it free-standing or secure via the integrated bayonet action mounting plate.
How much tubing can I use?
Keep tubing as short as practical. Long runs increase air volume and may affect switching, especially with temperature swings. Check the switch element data for specific maximum lengths.
